Grading procedures will follow the guidelines set by the Conejo Valley Unified School District. Students are graded for their effort and participation in class as well as the quality of their work on tests, homework, class work, and projects. In addition to a letter grade of an A, B, C, D, or F in each academic subject, students will also receive grades for their work habits and citizenship (E, S, N, or U).
Work Habit Grades are earned by:
turning in all work on time, complete, neat & organized
coming to class on time & prepared to work
bringing all necessary materials to class
demonstrating effort
listening & following directions
focusing consistently & staying on task
participating in class activities & discussions
Citizenship Grades are earned by:
demonstrating respect to peers & adults
demonstrating self-control
following all classroom and school rules
fulfilling student responsibilities
maintaining a positive attitude
Description of Grades:
Students who consistently perform beyond general expectations will earn an “E” for “Excellent”
Students who generally meet classroom expectations will earn an “S” for “Satisfactory”
Students who need improvement in achieving expectations will receive an “N” for “Needs to Improve”
Students who do not generally follow classroom expectations will receive a “U” for “Unsatisfactory”
Any incident of academic dishonesty will result in a zero on the assignment, a possible N or U in citizenship, and an office referral.
